Objective
Establish the feasibility of direct rail access to the  airport and potential impacts on the airports terminal building and land use.
Services
Development Management Our rail strategic planning team considered proposed options for direct rail access to the airport and their integration with the airports terminal and other forms of surface access. Forecasted demands, capacity and passenger flows were considered together with passenger experience and products. The study process included workshops, attended by the airports management, where risks and opportunities for each of the options were objectively rated. With the airports management, and key internal stakeholders, the rail access options and their potential impacts were evaluated and an airport preferred DLR option was identified.
Client benefit
The combination of Vectors rail expertise, together with a managed study process, resulted in an airport preferred rail access solution being identified and subsequently incorporated into the DLR plans.
